James C. Fredericks

James C. "Jim" Fredericks, age 80, of Sylvania, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Mercy St. Anne's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 12, 1936 to Charles and Beatrice Fredericks in Kentucky. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He retired from GM Powertrain after 31 years. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and helping anyone he could.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Earl, G.L. and Paul Fredericks. Jim is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Laura Fredericks; daughter, Shawn Fredericks; son, Chad (Debra) Fredericks; granddaughters, Sydney and Abigail; siblings, Sarah Fredericks, Mae Collins, Ruth Leach, Charles Fredericks and Charlotte (Larry) Bays; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Monday from 4 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd, Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Mark Wentz. Interment will follow in Whiteford Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Alzheimer's Association.
