James B. "Jim" Olmstead, age 77, of Toledo, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Heatherdowns Rehabilitation and Residential Care Center. He was born on July 9, 1939 to Vern and Virginia (Myers) Olmstead in Toledo. Jim was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School and following high school he went to work for Food Town, retiring after 46 years of service. He had strong faith and enjoyed reading the Bible and loved watching classic comedy videos and t.v. show. Most important to Jim was caring for his family, especially his granddaughter, Tiffany.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 56 years and high school sweetheart, Nancy (Werder) Olmstead; children, Peggy (Roy) Gruetter, Larry and Randy Olmstead and Pamela Miller (Mike Thomas); grandchildren, Brayden, Chandler and Fawn; great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Dustin and Devin and brother in law, John (Liz) Werder. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 4-6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Memorial Services will begin in the funeral home on Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
