Robert A. "Bob" Olszewski, age 62, of Carey and formerly of Toledo, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 in the E.R. at University of Toledo Medical Center, where he was surrounded by his family. He was born on September 18, 1954 to Alphonse and Dorothy (Pawelczak) Olszewski in Toledo.
Bob began his career in electronics at Strong Electric and continued on with I.T.T. for almost 25 years. He was an avid ham radio operator, KD8A. Bob greatly enjoyed fixing and tinkering with computers and electronics and could fix or solve about anything. When he wasn't working he loved having family picnics at the park, garage sales, bargaining and spending time with his grandkids. Bob had a passion for food and meeting at the Chinese buffet. He was an intelligent, kind, amazing man who was deeply adored by his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Sarah (Trevor) Hyter and Jennifer Olszewski; grandchildren, Hunter Smith, Ashton and Lily Vangelder; sister, Patricia Eisenmann; former spouse, Patti "O" Olszewski; brother in law, Marty Ludlow; niece, nephews, cousins, friends and co-workers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Ludlow.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 3-8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 3-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
