Dan K. Braun, Sr., 66, of Toledo, OH, formerly of Montrose, IA, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania. He was born in Ann Arbor, MI, May 14, 1949, to parents Kenneth C. and Marguerite (Cooch) Braun.
Dan, a Whitmer High School graduate, was employed with the Champion Spark Plug Company for over 34 years, before retiring in 2005.
Left to cherish his memory are his son Dan K. Braun, Jr.; mother Marguerite; siblings David (Diane); Janet (Josef) Gerner; Richard (Debra); Nancy (Ken) Kostanski; Barbara (Mark) Hafner; 3 granddaughters, a great-grandchild; other relatives and best friend and Iowa neighbor, John (Peggy) Woodruff. Dan was preceded in death by his son Charles, and father Kenneth.
Dan's life will be celebrated Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Westgate Chapel, 2500 Wilford Drive Toledo, OH 43615
He was a man of Christian faith, avid outdoorsman, hunter, fisherman, gardener, woodworker and motorcycle enthusiast. Dan valued family and friends and will be deeply missed.
His family wishes to thank for their care and support, Dr. Vitaliy I. Pishchik and staff of Cleveland Clinic North Coast Cancer Care, who were instrumental in allowing us additional time with Dan for restoration of relationships, and the staff of Ebeid.
